A Richland Co. man has been charged with allowing a 17-year old male to drink alcohol at his home, leading to the teen's death in a fatal crash in January.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Tyler Smith, 22, of Mansfield is accused of allowing an underage person to consume intoxicating alcohol--including beer, on Weds. Jan. 23. Officials say the unnamed 17-year old was driving home that evening when he lost control on N. Washington Rd. and eventually hit two trees.

If convicted, Smith could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
