Lets Take A Close Look At This...

Here are some thoughts shared with by a very astute listener. I’d like to add to them and share it all with you…
The headlines today seem to declare a need for speedy trial for the US soldier who is accused of killing and injuring several Afghanistan civilians. This soldier lost part of his foot to roadside bomb, suffered a brain injury, served multiple tours and saw his friends suffer serious wounds.
I don’t believe what the soldier did was right at all…NOT AT ALL. Here’s the irony…
Remember Major Hasan? He killed 13 of our own and wounded 29 more. The Major never spent time in battle and was stateside training, going to school and complaining about not being treated fairly. The Major has not been tried yet and if you can believe this his defense team wants to use PTSD defense.
If that’s not enough how about this…
Several Marines are under investigation for abusing enemy corpses. A few years ago American Rangers were dragged thru the streets of Somalia and mutilated! Never a charge or an apology.
Thanks Ron!!!
Am I sad about the departure of Peyton Manning? Not at all...

Many people have asked me if I’m sad after yesterday’s events surrounding the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning. The truth is I’m not sad at all. As a sports fan this is a very proud moment, not sad at all. Not since the ABA Pacers of the early 70’s has professional sports in Indiana had this much attention or credibility. Manning has also helped erase some of the painful memories of the past…Mike Pagel, Gary Hogeboom, Jeff George, Tom Ramsey, Don Majikowski, Chris Chandler, Browning Nagel and Paul Justin.
The once mutually stabling forces in the NFL will have to deal uncertainty as they settle into new situations. Colt fans should expect a Manning led team to dispatch the “rebuilding Colts” soon.
Even if its just a rhyme, it helps us get thru winter in Ohio. I’m sure there are people in many warm weather states that look at us and say,”Man, you had 50 states to choose and you picked this?”
Honestly I like the change of seasons. I’m not sure if I would do well without the smell of spring or the feel of fall closing the door on summer. And really rushing to the store to get a loaf of bread or gallon of milk before a snow storm is better than buying a truckload of plywood before a hurricane!!!
